10 Cards – Catherine Pooler Inks & Tropically Yours SOA Box

Hi There!

When I attended Junkie Fest this year, I had the pleasure of meeting Catherine Pooler. Being new to the crafting world, I was not familiar with her designs or her inks, but after meeting her in person, talking to her about her ink colors/collections, and getting a chance to try them, I fell in love with her products. Her ink pads are different from everything else on the market, because the ink pad is made out of sponge like material. CP ink pads are much softer than a regular dye ink pad and easier to stamp with because you can use less pressure. It’s also wets the stamp much quicker, so only one or two gentle tabs get your stamp nicely wet. Some other advantages of CP inks are that they have similar properties to Distress Inks because they react with water.

Here is a picture of what her ink pads look like. I will also link her store below.

Buying full size inks is a real investment and I had specifically waited to try different inks before I decided where I wanted to invest my money. After giving it some good thought, I decided to go with Catherine’s inks because her ink pads are unique and because she has great colors. At times I like to use bright colors and at other times I prefer to use more muted colors. Her bright colors are part of the Party Collection and her muted colors are part of the Spa Collection. This makes it super easy to match colors for your projects. I should mention that because of the fact that the consistency of CP Ink Pads, they have to be re-inked a lot more frequently than regular dye ink pads. After returning home and looking through Catherine’s store, I also found that her designs are on the contemporary side, which I love because that differentiates her stamps from the majority of other stamp companies we all love so much. I like to have a little bit of everything in my Stamp Collection.

When purchasing some inks, I also fell in love with Catherine’s Tropically Yours Stamp of Approval Box. I had sooo much fun playing with the SOA box that I made a bunch of cards. More are probably to come, since ideas just keep on flowing with these stamp sets. Lots of cards coming ahead. Enjoy!

The dies that came in the SOA box are so versatile. I have so many ideas with these. I also LOVE this sentiment.
Here I used all the different leaves that came in the stamp set for my background. Then I added a piece of vellum and embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder.
I love the flamingos in this stamp set. After coloring them with my copic markers (R20 R22 and R24), I added a little bit of glitter with my Wink of Stella glitter pen. Again, I LOVE this sentiment.
I created another background with the leaves and used a leaf die from my stash to cut out some branches out of vellum. Then I added some brown card stock and ribbon to give it a little bit of a fall feel.
This card came together quickly. I used one of the borders and stamped it in the background, then I used a piece of my leaf background for the middle and added some flowers and leaves to create my ‘bouquet’.
I love Catherine’s Party Ink Collection, so I used some of the small sentiments from the stamp set with my favorite ink colors to create this bright summer card with the wreath builder.
On this card I used the background stamp from the SOA Box and the palm trees and coconut. Again,a true bright summer card.
This card evolved as I was working on it. Initially I only stamped the flamingos and colored them, but then I wanted to play with the water stamp and the grass stamp, so I made it a whole scene. I should add that the flamingos are super easy to cut out for masking.
This is probably one of my favorite cards from this set. I love the Hawaii look and feel. And the sentiment is simply amazing.
This card was so much fun to put together. The dies are really great to play with.
